The Freedom of Information Act 2000 ("The Act") gives members of the public and any interested bodies the right to request official information held by public bodies, including Barrow Borough Council.

Although we will try to provide you with the information you request, there will be some occasions where we may refuse your request if:
- It is too costly to collate the information you require
- It is a repeat request or a vexatious request
- One of the exemptions under the FOI act apples
If we do refuse your request, we will notify you of this and the reasons why as soon as possible.

Right to review
If unhappy with the way your request for information was handled, you can ask for an internal review by emailing: email@example.com and your appeal will be dealt with by the Corporate Support Manager.
